Clouds of Pink

Last fall a cloud of pink flowers appeared on a strange plant that is at the bottom of our driveway. I took a sample of it to the farmers market to see if anyone could tell me what it was and found out it is called Japanese Knotweed. It appears in the spring as strong stems that look like bamboo and grows about eight feet tall. In September large clumps of tiny flowers appear. They start as a pale pink and then open up to a beautiful pink. Unfortunately these are incredibly invasive plants but a really great flash of color when most flowers are finished.
